Coniq, in partnership with Liwa stores, has made it through to the finals of the Middle East and North Africa Shopping Centre and Retailer (MECS+R) Awards!
The awards are designed to honour outstanding achievement in retail, marketing, NOI enhancement, and the design and development of retail properties. The awards are held each year as part of the Retail Congress event to celebrate “hard working and innovative retailers, shopping centres and service providers”.
Our Award Entry
Coniq and Liwa Stores are finalists in the “Service Excellence” category for the “Best Technology Innovation” award for the USRA loyalty programme that was rolled out in July 2019. The membership programme went live across 102 stores in under 3 months. This was due to Liwa Stores embracing an innovative SaaS solution, breaking away from the custom-built software usually used in the UAE. Since launch the programme has secured an average of 20,000 members a month, with only very minimal marketing.
Mark Tesseyman, CEO for Liwa Stores states “The results have surpassed our high expectations, as within two months the USRA Rewards programme had 35,000 members, whose average transaction value (ATV) soared to between 50% – 70% higher than non-members.”

The success has been so impressive that the decision was made in the first 60 days to expand the programme to the entire GCC.
The Awards
Both Liwa and Coniq are thrilled to have been selected as finalists for the awards which take place on the 29th October. The gold and silver winners will be announced at the Retail Congress Mena event in Dubai, and will be automatically entered into a further award, the ICSC Best-of-the-Best Global “VIVA” (Vision, Innovation, Value, Achievement) Awards.
